There’s something special about the fresh start of a new year—a chance to reflect, dream, and set intentions for what’s ahead. But let’s be honest: a lot of the “New Year, New You” messaging out there can feel overwhelming, unrealistic, or just plain discouraging. That’s not what this space is about.
This month’s theme is all about vision boards, intentions, and creative planning—but in a way that feels supportive and fun, not full of pressure. Whether you’ve made a vision board every year or you’re new to the idea, it’s about exploring what inspires you and creating something that reflects who you are, exactly where you’re at.
We’ll walk through crafting vision boards, using planners (and actually sticking with them), junk journaling, and more. Let’s make this a month of possibility—on our own terms!
Vision Boards
A vision board is a collage of inspiring images, words, and colors that represent your goals, dreams, or intentions for the year.
When I make my vision board, I usually don’t have specific things in mind. Instead, I let inspiration guide me. I flip through magazines and choose what feels right in the moment. It’s a fun, creative way to dream about what’s possible and create a beautiful reminder to keep me inspired all year long. However, many people approach it with specific goals in mind. Choose what feels best for you!

Simple Steps to Create Your Vision Board
What You’ll Need:
• Magazines to cut up
• Scissors
• Glue
• Thick paper or a sturdy poster board
Step 1 (Optional): Reflect & Dream Take a few minutes to think about what you want this year to feel like. What goals, dreams, or values matter most to you?
Step 2: Collect Your Images Flip through magazines and cut out images, words, or colors that inspire you or align with your vision.
Step 3: Arrange Your Vision Lay out your images on the paper before gluing. Move things around until it feels just right!
Step 4: Make It Stick Glue your images to the paper, creating a collage that reflects your dreams and intentions.
When it’s finished, hang it somewhere you’ll see it often. It’s fun to notice how the images and themes come to fruition or take on new meaning as the year unfolds.
Host a Vision Board Party!
To make your vision board even more enjoyable, consider hosting a vision board party with friends. Sharing the process with others—even just one friend—can make it more fun and inspiring. Yes, even for introverts!

Take some time to gather your supplies and start putting your board together. Remember: done is better than perfect! Let your creativity flow, and don’t worry about making it look a certain way.
